Eleven years has passed since the 20-year – old – plus boy Nguyen Viet Hoa  opened the first martial arts club named Ngoc Hoa Martial Arts club at Le Loi senior – High school in Tan Ky District of Nghe An province in 1994. From a small club with an aim of stirring up and developing the movement of practical karatedo in Nghe An Province, Ngoc Hoa club has become a system with 24 affiliates, including 19 in Nghe An province, two in Lao Cai Province and three in Hanoi. Forging a niche in the karatedo movement in Nghe An, Ngoc Hoa club has trained generations of disciples who had qualified for natinonal competitions as well as national sports and gymnastic festivals. In 1999, the club’s disciples won one gold medal and two brazen medals at the Hanoi Open – Karatedo Championship. At the same championship in 2000, they brought to Ngoc Hoa club one silver medal, and two gold, two sliver and three brozen medals in 2001.

Ngoc Hoa Martial Arts Company also develops different forms of training and supplies bodyguards and professional guards. To date, it has trained more than 200 bodyguards for many companies and restaurants in Hanoi.

Nguyen Viet Hoa had an unfortunate childhood. However, his family’s life of ups and downs in the difficult land of Nghe An did not harden his sentiment, nor discourage him in his life. At the age of 16, Hoa was determined to master his life. He tried to earn his living and support his siblings. Then he continued his studying. To earn enough money to bring up his siblings and cover his study, Nguyen Viet Hoa went to Hanoi Where he did many jobs, repairing bicycles, cooking, washing dishes and working as a mason. His will and efforts have paid off. In 1995, he enrolled in the law faculty at the University of Social Science and Humanities. During that time he had to work to earn money, studied at the university and practised martial arts. He also managed the newly– established martial arts club in homeland and prepared for the development of a system of martial arts clubs. Talking about Hoa, one could kept mentioning his extraordinary efforts to satisfy his passion for martial arts. A descendent of Nguyen Si family in Nghi Thiet, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province with many of his ancestors being well known in the martial arts circle, Hoa seemed to have a pre-destined love for martial arts. When he was a little boy he could not go to martial arts shool because his family was poor. He learned martial arts through books and was imbued with ideas and moral standards of martial arts. Later, he went to Hanoi to attend a martial arts course organised by Hanoi Gymnatics and sports Department. Under the whole – hearted instructions of his teachers who had great love for him, he progressed with every passing day. Gradually martial arts became a career of this B.A in law.

Nguyen Viet Hoa not only built and developed a martial arts shool throughout the country, providing conditions for many people to find jobs, but also helped popularise the beautiful moral standards of martial arts among young people through Ngoc Hoa Martial Arts Club. These moral standards purified the disciples ‘spirit and helped them start their life with a strong belief, a high spirit and an open heart.
